What are Scrims?

What does scrim mean, in relation to gaming and esports? In this brief article, we will give the definition of a scrim game and explain what scrims and pro scrims are.

What is a scrim?

Definition: A scrim is an online practice match against several players or teams. The word scrim comes from the shortening of “scrimmage”. It is basically a competitive game you play against other competitive players or teams for practicing in unranked matches. The word is most used between clan members in online first-person shooter games.

Scrims are conducted in almost any game, most popular include Fortnite, CS:GO (Counter-Strike), Overwatch, Rainbow 6, PUBG, Dota 2, League of Legends, Rocket League and so on.

What are pro scrims?

Pro scrims are the same as scrim games, but professional esports athletes usually refer to pro scrims when they play against other professional players or teams.

We have written about pro scrims, Fortnite scrims, solo snipes and Fortnite Pro Discords (also called ProCords or Pro Cords) which are related to scrims.
